Let There Be Blood' Samples Available

EXODUS have posted two songs from the re-recording of their classic 1985 debut album, "Bonded by Blood", on the MySpace page. "A Lesson in Violence" and "Metal Command" will be streaming online for a limited time, allowing fans a chance to officially test-drive the controversial release", titled "Let There Be Blood", which hits streets this October 28 through Zaentz Records.

"Let There Be Blood" was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California; JKZ Production Studio in San Rafael, California; with vocal tracks recorded at J. Rod Production Studios in New City, New York. Andy Sneap mixed the CD at his Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England. An October 28, 2008 release through Zaentz Records is expected.

In other news, Gary Holt, EXODUS' founding member and guitarist, has commented on the new recording of "Hell's Breath", a rare track from the band's 1980 demo. "Hell's Breath" will be included on "Let There Be Blood" as a bonus track.

He said, "When Tom [Hunting, drums] and I finished the drum tracks for 'Let There Be Blood', we had a half a day of studio time left, we tried to come up with something to record with the spare time we had. One thing led to another, and next thing you know I started playing the opening riff to 'Hell's Breath', which is when we both said 'Hell yeah!' Funny thing is, neither of us had played the song for two-plus decades, so we were going by memory on the exact arrangement of the song. It wasn't until I started deciphering my old lyrics from some live MP3s that a friend had sent me, that I realized we had gotten the original solo section wrong! Just slightly different, but overall, this one came out so killer, almost makes me want to track some more of those old classics!"

Regarding the band's decision to re-record "Bonded By Blood", Holt previously said: "It is our way of paying homage to Paul Baloff [former EXODUS vocalist who passed away in 2002] by showing how relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren't trying to replace the original; that's impossible anyway. We are just giving these songs the benefit of modern production. It's something we talked about before Paul's death and it's always been important to us to do. We were super-excited about entering the studio once again to record these classics, and now it's back to writing the next studio record!"

Gary Holt was interviewed on the July 26, 2008 edition of "The Classic Metal Show" about the band's decision to re-record "Bonded by Blood". Listen to the interview in two parts below.

Gary Holt, Junio:

"(... I am totally stoked. While working on this, I have been securing the talent for the 25th anniversary version of it, the Paul Baloff trubute. Nine different singers. Can't name names right now, but people have been more than willing to participate.

So...could I say that the "different singers" was a differente album or just an unfinished project?.

Btw...the new samples are fuckin' awesome.
